“I will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.” (- Og Mandino)
Rays of light shining through green leaves are often associated with hope and guidance from above. It brings about the feeling of awe, aspiration and longing when one is going through hardships and darkness. As C.S. Lewis puts it: these are “Patches of Godlight” in the woods of our experience; “Komorebi” as untranslatable, yet beautifully expressed in Japanese.
Anesthesiologists along with other specialists have been in the forefront of this pandemic, imparting significant contributions to the critical management of patients. With this additional burden placed on our shoulders, the journey has been hard and uncertain. At times, it has felt like we have been walking through woods of darkness and the only thing that has been pushing us to keep moving forward is that Light of Hope we receive from above; a foreshadow of better days to come.
With that, we WELCOME YOU to “Rays of Hope”, the 52nd Conferment Ceremonies.
